At the beginning of the year most people set resolutions. Personally, goals are more of my thing. Goals provide direction for achieving an outcome. Goals are intentional for realistic actions and outcomes. Prior to setting goals, I start every year off with a specific prayer. I ask that God continue to guide my steps and light my path. This is especially important for me as I strive to walk in God’s will for my life, and set goals accordingly.
Socialize More
I consider myself an introvert, and homebody (lol). Socializing more was a goal of mine last year. The pandemic put a hold on this goal however, I still desire to be more social. I realized that I do not dedicate enough time to friends and extended family. Striving to start more conversations, call more and text less, and be more involved this year.
There is nothing wrong with staying home and binge watching Netflix but this pandemic has made me realize that connecting is important. Honestly, prior to the pandemic I was not as connected with extended family and friends. Adulting is time consuming, and if you’re not intentional about your time it will pass you by. There is joy in connecting, so I’ll be socializing more!
Move More
In 2018 I had ACL reconstructive surgery. Since then, exercising looks much more different than it did pre op. My 2 year anniversary was Dec. 26th, and I have yet to create a fitness routine. The procrastination is attributed mainly to not truly knowing how to workout since surgery. My favorite exercises are ones that are high in intensity. My husband and I also enjoy bike riding which is actually great for my knee.
The goal is for me to move more so that I can work my way up to high intensity workouts again. The only way I can meet this goal is if I commit to moving more whether that be running, walking, bike riding or strengthening. Movement is key.
Travel to a New Place
As a child, I vividly remember my dad always telling my sister and I to travel the world. He is an Airforce veteran, and often emphasized the importance of traveling. Dad says you haven’t seen the world until you’ve traveled, and I agree.
My husband and I love to travel, and we definitely didn’t get to do enough of it in 2020 due to the pandemic. If travel is in your budget, and it can be done safely I highly recommend that you make it a personal goal for yourself. No matter what your interests are when it comes to travel you can always find a new place to visit.
Grow and Develop the Blog More
My expectations for my blog and brand are BIG! Beautifully Thrifted was published on September 10th, and since then so much growth has happened. I want to continue to grow and develop my Instagram platform and following. I’d also like to secure my first brand collaboration in 2021.
This journey is so exciting, and I’ll be continuing to work hard to transform beautifully Thrifted into a Brand to be reckoned with!
Save Money
Beautifully Thrifted is about valuing your coin without sacrificing your wants, desires or style! Therefore, saving money is always on my list of goals. Saving money looks different for everyone. personally, I am looking at goals in terms of retirement and opportunities to boost my salary this year. When trying to save money, a great goal is to spend less than you earn. One way to do this is by shopping at consignment shops, and thrift stores.
You can DO it! Setting goals can be overwhelming, but setting the right goals is half the battle. 2021 will be amazing, Happy New Year!
Final Prayer
Dear Lord, I come to you first giving you thanks and praise for being God all by yourself. Thank you for being a prayer hearing and prayer answering God. Lord I pray for your grace and mercy as we enter 2021. I dedicate this year to you and ask that you light our paths. Thank you for increasing our faith in 2020. Lord let us walk by faith into the new year. Let us remain focused on your promises. I proclaim that 2021 will be amazing and thank you in advance for your blessings to come. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Thank you! Glad you could relate, cheers to CRUSHING goals in 2021!
We have 4 of the same goals ( 1,2,3, and 5)! The wind was taken out of my sails when I lost my Mama in March, and I just fell into this black hole, so in 2021 I intend to come back strong! I’m looking forward to reconnecting with family that I’ve been away from, and connecting with family that I’m just getting to know.
Sorry for your loss, Courtney! Let’s claim it – this year will be better than the last. My prayer is that you have a blessed year that allows you to prosper and heal. Cheers to connecting with family we are just getting to know in 2021!! 🙂
